Before you invest in data or AI, find out what your company actually needs.

Who it is for

Designed for SMEs of 1 to 50 people who already work with data, even without realising it.

It is for you if

  • Your data is scattered across Excel sheets, ERP, e-commerce and inboxes, and nobody has the full picture.
  • You want to introduce AI or automation but don’t know where to start or what it would cost.
  • You received very different quotes and need an independent opinion before deciding.
  • You are considering a grant or voucher and need a clear project to submit.
  • You have no in-house IT team, or it is small and busy with day-to-day operations.

It is not for you if

  • You only want a free quote for software you have already chosen.
  • You already have a structured data team and an approved roadmap.
  • You need an urgent fix on a production system: in that case, write to me directly.

What you get

A document you can use, even without me.

The audit is not a sales call. At the end you hold concrete material, written for the people who decide and clear for the people who will build it.

Sample report

What the report looks like.

The Standard report runs to 25-35 pages, written in plain language with few acronyms. Here is the typical table of contents and an excerpt showing how a recommendation is presented.

Typical contents

  1. Executive summary (1 page)
  2. Company context and goals
  3. Map of data and systems: what exists and how it connects
  4. Data quality and reliability
  5. Manual processes and bottlenecks
  6. Opportunities for automation, analytics and AI
  7. Risks: security, GDPR, vendor lock-in
  8. Roadmap with priorities, timing and indicative costs
  9. Milestones and KPIs (Standard and Premium)
  10. Appendix: technical details for implementers

Illustrative excerpt · fictional data

Priority 1 · A single customer register

Situation. Customers are recorded in three places: ERP, e-commerce and a shared Excel sheet. In the sample analysed, about one record in five is duplicated or incomplete.

Impact. Offers sent twice, unreliable sales statistics, about 4 hours a week spent reconciling data.

What to do. Make the ERP the single source, clean duplicates once, sync the e-commerce automatically.

Effort. 2-3 weeks · low-to-medium indicative cost · prerequisite for any AI project on customer data.

Client reports stay confidential: that is why the excerpt above uses fictional data, but the format and level of detail are the real ones.

FAQ

Before you fill in the form.

Why is the audit paid rather than free?

A free audit is often just the first step of a sale. A paid audit guarantees an honest analysis, even when the answer is “you don’t need anything else”.

Which package should I choose?

Starter suits small businesses that want a first overview. Standard is the most common starting point for an SME of 5 to 30 people. Premium is for when you want to involve your team and leave with a detailed operational roadmap. If in doubt, choose Standard: we can change package before payment.

What happens after I submit the form?

Within 24 working hours I reply by email: I confirm whether the audit is right for you, the recommended package and the kick-off steps. No payment is requested before this confirmation.

Do I need to prepare anything?

No, you just need to know which tools you use (ERP, Excel sheets, e-commerce, CRM) and which problems you want to solve. During the audit I may ask for sample files or read-only access to some systems, always agreed in advance.

How is my data handled?

I work on samples and on read-only access agreed with you, and I can sign a non-disclosure agreement. Data is used only for the analysis and is not shared with third parties.

Do you work with companies outside Italy?

Yes, the audit can be done remotely and in English. Invoices are issued by an Italian VAT-registered business.

Do I have to implement the project with you afterwards?

No. The report is yours and you can implement it in-house or with another provider: the technical appendix is there for exactly that. If you want to continue together, the audit becomes the basis for the quote.

Is the audit useful for grants and vouchers?

Yes, because it gives you a project with priorities and indicative costs to start from. For Italian companies, see the guide to the Piedmont Digitalisation Voucher 2026. Eligibility of costs must be checked against the call text.
