Technical consulting to rebuild a major architecture portal
Archweb.com is a portal for architects and designers: CAD blocks and projects in dwg format, cost estimates and price lists, famous architecture, photo galleries and articles, on a subscription model. A very large archive, grown over the years on a platform built in Python.
The problem
The old platform had to be maintained and, at the same time, rethought: the editorial team needed a system that was easier to manage, able to handle thousands of items and to work with registered users and subscriptions. A decision like this, if made badly, costs months of work and an archive that is hard to migrate.
My role
I did not build the new site: I followed the project as a technical consultant, on the client’s side.
- Maintenance of the existing Python version during the transition
- Requirements analysis and choice of WordPress as the basis of the new portal
- Guidance on structuring content, archive and members’ areas
- Oversight of the development carried out by a specialised agency, reviewing the technical choices
The result
The new Archweb was built on WordPress by the agency, with a technical counterpart at the client’s side at every stage: clear requirements before starting, decisions checked during development and fewer surprises at delivery.
The project
Technical consulting and development oversight on behalf of the client. The new site was developed by a specialised agency.

Testimonial · ★★★★★ on Trustpilot
“He supported me through several stages, from maintaining a Python site to creating a new WordPress project. Always available, he recommended the best technical solutions for my needs. Financially, too, I found great honesty and transparency, qualities that are not a given in this field.”
