Artificial intelligence is already part of everyday work tools, but for a small business the question is still the same: where does it bring a concrete advantage, and where is it best to start. In one day the team learns how data, machine learning and language models work, and how to recognise the applications that make sense for its own company.
The course alternates explanations and lab work: participants write prompts, look at assistants that answer from company documents and at agents that automate tasks, and finish with an action plan for the first project. Examples and use cases are adapted to the team’s sector.
- Duration: 8 hours in 1 day
- Format: on site at your premises or online, in 2 half-days of 4 hours.
- Group: up to 10 people
- Investment: from €1,000 + VAT for the team on site, from €800 + VAT online. Travel outside the province of Turin not included. Tailored quote.
What you will be able to do
- tell artificial intelligence, machine learning and generative models apart, with the possibilities and limits of each
- assess whether the data available in the company is suitable for an AI project
- write effective prompts and use AI assistants reliably, spotting hallucinations
- understand how an assistant can answer from company documents (RAG) and how agents automate tasks
- choose the first use case, estimate costs and benefits, and take privacy and regulation into account
Programme
Morning · Understanding AI (4 hours)
- What artificial intelligence is today: AI, machine learning, deep learning and generative models
- Data as raw material: data types, where they come from, quality and typical problems
- Machine learning in practice: classification, prediction and clustering, with examples for SMEs (demand, customers, maintenance)
- How language models (LLMs) work: from next-token prediction to assistants, limits and hallucinations
- Prompt engineering: principles of a good prompt and a guided exercise
Afternoon · Applying AI in the company (4 hours)
- RAG: assistants that answer using the company’s documents and data
- Agents and automation: tools, memory and planning, with an overview of frameworks and no-code tools
- Use cases for SMEs and how to choose the first project: available data, costs, benefits and risks
- Privacy, security, GDPR and the AI Act: responsible use of the tools
- Lab: each group outlines a use case from its own company and defines the next steps
The programme is a 8-hour baseline: examples and the weight of each topic are adapted to the sector, level and tools already used by the team.
Who it is for
Owners, managers and teams of small businesses and professional firms, and technical staff and department heads (administration, sales, production, marketing) who want to understand what AI can do for the company and how to get started.
Requirements
No programming or statistics skills are needed. Each participant brings a personal computer with a stable connection and an up-to-date browser.
What is included
- Course material in digital format
- Prompt examples and ready-made exercises to reuse in the company
- A worksheet to assess and prioritise the company’s use cases
- For online delivery: a technical test before the start
Software used
Generative AI assistants available from the browser. The exercises only need the tools the team already has; for cases with real data, the tools to use are agreed together.
Frequently asked questions
Can the course be delivered online?
Yes. The online course is organised in 2 half-days of 4 hours, with a technical test before the start. On site it takes place at the client’s premises (8 hours in 1 day).
Are technical skills needed?
No. The course starts from concepts and uses non-technical language. The more technical steps are explained with examples and do not require writing code.
Can the programme be adapted?
Yes. The programme above is the 8-hour baseline: sector, examples and use cases are chosen together with the team. On request, a topic can be explored further, for example RAG and company documents or process automation.
How much does it cost, and what about travel?
From €1,000 + VAT for a team of up to 10 people on site, from €800 + VAT online. Travel outside the province of Turin is not included and is reimbursed separately. Tailored quote.
What happens to the company’s data during the course?
The exercises use sample data. For real cases the course shows how to assess which data can be shared with a tool and which cannot, according to privacy rules and company policy.
