Rapid prototyping for flight vehicle engineering, for the European Space Agency
iDreams (Development of a Rapid Prototyping Flight Vehicle Engineering Toolset) is a project carried out for the European Space Agency (ESA) in collaboration with Politecnico di Torino. The goal: develop a toolset that enables rapid prototyping for flight vehicle engineering, with the ability to automatically extract information about building blocks directly from the database.
The proposed suite consists of three main tools:
- ASTRID-H — a conceptual design tool, providing high-level mass and volume breakdowns plus a preliminary mission characterization
- HyCost — a Life Cycle Cost (LCC) estimation tool
- TRIS (Technology Roadmapping Strategy) — a tool for performing technology roadmapping analysis
